ALL ABOUT SNAPDRAGON 888 PLUS : UPGRADED SD888

During the MWC 2021 keynote, Qualcomm has announced its latest chipset i.e. Snapdragon 888+. It is the upgraded version of Snapdragon 888. The chipset launched on 18th of June 2021. It is the most powerful mobile chipset yet.

CPU:-

Snapdragon 888+ is a 64-bit octa-core processor and is based on 5nm technology that gives better battery life. The processor comes with an all-new Arm Cortex X1 Prime core clocked at 3.0GHz, Arm Cortex A78 clocked at 2.42 GHz (3x performance) and Arm Cortex A55 efficiency cores with a base frequency of 1.8GHz (4x efficiency).

GPU:-

The one thing that’s not been upgraded this year is the GPU performance. The Snapdragon 888 comes with an Adreno 660 GPU @840MJZ running at extremely high frequencies and corresponding high-power draw. The platform is armed with the full arsenal of Snapdragon Elite Gaming features to harness the power of ultra-smooth responsiveness, color-rich HDR graphics, and mobile-first desktop-level.

RAM and Storage:-

Snapdragon 888 can support upto 16GB of RAM and talking about RAM speed, it can prop-up to 2133 MHz LPDDR4X and 2750 MHz LPDDR5 type RAM,  which gives speedy system performance. Coming to the storage, it supports EMMC 5.1, UFS 2.1 and UFS 3.1.

Camera:-

When it comes to imaging, the SoC can handle these camera setups: a single 200MP sensor, a single 84MP sensor with zero shutter lag (ZSL), a dual 64MP+25MP setup and triple 28MP sensors.

Video:-

It supports 4K HDR video with Computational HD, 8K video recording at 30fps and 4K recording at 120FPS. It also supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR10, HLG, H.264 (AVC), H.265 (HEVC), VP8, VP9. Slo-Mo Video Capture supports upto 720p @ 960 FPS. Color depth video capture is upto 10-bit.

Display:-

This time Qualcomm has upgraded to 4K display at 60HZ refresh rate (2160×3840p), QHD+ display at 144HZ (1440×3360p) and also supports HDR10+, HLG, Dolby Vision, HDR10, and color depth upto 10-bit.

Connectivity:-

The Snapdragon 888+ chipset has support for Dynamic Spectrum Sharing (DSS), mmWave(2×2 MIMO) and Sub-6GHz(100 MHz bandwidth) ; it uses the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ X60 5G Modem-RF System. The maximum upload speed reaches upto 3 Gbps and maximum download speed reaches upto 7.5 Gbps. Bluetooth version 5.2

For WIFI connectivity, it uses the Qualcomm® FastConnect™ 6900 system and Wi-Fi Spectral Bands of 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, 6 GHz.
